  • Handout- Annotations. 

  • Reading: Perez article in ERWC workbook. (pg. 3)

  • Start Left Margin Annotations. Have those done, look up any unknown vocab, and identify where the claim/thesis statement is. 

HOMEWORK: 

Goals essay due to the Google Classroom by 11:59PM tonight!

  • Continue to work on Perez article. Make sure you've got the left margin annotations done, identify the claim/thesis statement, intro, and conclusion. 

  • Complete the following journal on a separate piece of paper and turn in: 

    • Write a one paragraph description of an even or moment when you wer eless than perfect and explain to the reader what your response to that moement says about your character, values, or potential for work or study.

  • Bellringer: TED Talk- Tim Urban and "Inside the Mind of a Master Procrastinator" (link). Journal your response in your notebook. 

  • Continue Left Margin Annotations (LMA) of the Graff article on page 5 of your ERWC Workbook. Digital version available on ERWC page. 

HOMEWORK: Get at LEAST halfway done with LMA.

In Notebook: Choose a Process Analysis Essay topic, brainstorm, rough draft (it doesn't have to be perfect, calm down!)

Friday 8/31

  • Grammar 1.1b

  • Graff Vocabulary (have the definitions for the works listed here)

  • Finish LMA for Graff, then do the Right Margin Annotations (RMA), focusing on identify the introduction, conclusion, claim/thesis statement, AND bullet out the main ideas for each body paragraph. You don't have to write complete sentences.

  • TED Talk: Tim Urban and "Inside the Mind of a Master Procrastinator" (link).

  • In your notebook, journal for 5 minutes (label by the name of the TED Talk and date it)

Handouts: 

  • Non-Fiction Project Q1- Review. Due October 16

  • AP Free-Response Question 3 prompt- deconstruct, brainstorm acts of civil disobedience. 

  • 9 point AP Argument Rubric-We reviewed to the score of 6

Tuesday we will look at sample responses to the prompt and score them.
