Monday 10/23

  1. turn in your GFBF Essay- staple the gold rubric behind your essay. 

  2. Article- Steiner "The Top Five Regrets Of The Dying" (link) 

  3. Read and LMA. Respond to the question at the bottom as a journal in your notebook. 

 

AP 11

Grammar 3.2a, Compound-complex and Periodic sentences added to your grammar foldable. 

Review Prose questions (we got through question 7 in each class). We will finish reviewing tomorrow and THEN you will turn in your questions with your DJs stapled to the back.

Read Ripley (pg. 56 in ERWC Book) and LMA 1 per page minimum.

Homework

Notebook: I will be checking Quotes of the Week for all of October. Notebook activities will be checked starting with the Steiner journal from 10/23..

Update source organizer.

  • Rhetorical device- anthorism; Cumulative and Loose sentence for grammar manipulative. 

  • Finish reviewing Prose questions, then staple them together w/ your DJs on back and turn in. 

  • Compare/contrast- pick a topic (Google possible topics), then brainstorm what you're comparing, your purpose, your audience, your basis for comparison, and the points you want to include. 

Homework:

Draft of compare/contrast essay (about 500 words) due Friday.

  • Bell ringer- MLA Works Cited Citation builder. We created a citation for the Rosenhall article together using the handout we got today and the MLA 8 guide I gave out last week. Easybib has been making a lot of mistakes- please be careful using it and make sure to check the citation against the guide before copying/pasting. 

  • Activity: Brittany Maynard One Year Later: Brittany's Legacy- video. Take notes in NB. View the rules on the website DeathwithDignity.org

  • Read and LMA Rosenhall article (you'll get more time Friday).

  • Bell Ringer: MLA Works Cited Citation builder. We created a citation for the Robinson TED talk together using the handouts we got today Easybib has been making a lot of mistakes- please be careful using it and make sure to check the citation against the guide before copying/pasting. We also created a citation for Prose. 

  • Emerson reading- first read. Just mark your confusion and note vocab words.
